Stuck

This post could have been included with day 1 of the blizzard, but I thought it was such a monumentally stupid act that it deserved it's own post. Somehow, a mid day conversation turned into a challenge, and our car being stuck in the drive way was the result. We had nowhere to be today at all, or for the rest of the week for that matter. All plans for this blizzard included staying inside and staying warm. However, after lunch, I asked Kevin when he thought he would be able to get out to go to work. He responds that he will probably go tomorrow. I laughed, and asked if he realized we had over a foot of snow, and not even a snow shovel to dig ourselves out if we wanted to. He says "I have 4-wheel drive, I can get out today if I want to." I guess he felt the need to prove himself. After a few minutes he came back in and said "You were right." Shocking! The entire city is practically shut down, but we, who can barely change a lightbulb, are going to be the ones to venture out in this historic blizzard and return home safely without incident. So, due to the apparent competive nature of our household, my car will be sitting in our driveway in the freezing cold for the next few days. Thanks, honey. (Don't worry, Kevin is not offended by this post. I checked with him. He's cool like that. ) On a positive note, hearing the phrase "You were right!" was music to my ears. Frequently true, rarely admitted.

This post made me laugh out loud. Maybe its because the competitive spirit of your household is so very familiar to our own and we could easily have found ourselves in a similar situation! Thanks for sharing, and thank Kevin for allowing you to!

Wendy-I'm glad you got a good laugh out of it, and that we're not the only competitive couple.
