Flashback Friday

So, on the theme of LOVE for this month, I thought I'd post a picture of my fabulous parents in their youth. We are heading to MO this weekend to celebrate their 30th Anniversary with them. I'm sure they'll be thrilled, but here is a picture of them back in the day, and one now. Happy 30th to two of the most wonderful people I know! I love you dearly!

Baby Update

I had my first doctor's appointment today, and was very relieved to find that everything looked great. I finally have an official due date which is Sept. 30th. I would post the lovely ultra sound picture, but there's not much to see yet. Other than that, not much has been going on around the Lawrence house. I pretty much go to work, come home and go to sleep. Kevin suggested that maybe this pregnancy was hitting me so hard because I'm so much older this time around. I'm sure that popped out before he thought that comment through. Oh, and Skylar also thinks there is a chance she has a baby in her belly. Her stomach was hurting the other night, and she very seriously asks "Does God ever accidentally put babies in kid's stomachs?". Then this morning, she was very grumpy. When I asked her what was wrong, she said she wanted to sleep all day. I told her I would like to sleep all day too. She says "I know, that's why I think I have a baby in my tummy too."

Daddy's Home!

Kevin has been "working" in New Orleans for the last 3 days to finish up an audit. As always, the girls missed him like crazy, and were excited to have him home. They were especially thrilled that he returned with some Mardi Gras goodies for them. He did want me to make sure to let everyone know that it was all given to him by a client, and that he wasn't actually participating in the festivities.

Be Mine

Flashback Friday

My little cupid...... This is Skylar when she was about 4 months old. This has always been one of my favorite pictures of her, and I can't think of a more appropriate day to post it. I hope you get shot with cupid's arrow this Valentine's Day! Have a great weekend full of LOVE!

I Heart Faces-Week 5 (kids)

So, this is the first time I have posted anything on the i heart faces blog, but have browsed around on there for a while thanks to Melinda. I have so many photos, it's overwhelming to try to narrow down and pick one. However, with this week's theme being "silly" I couldn't resist. The girls are typically quiet and shy in public, but I love when I catch them being their true goofy selves. This photo was of Londyn in the hotel room before a wedding this summer. She was completely wound up because my whole family was there, and of course the fact that we were staying in a hotel. If you are in the mood to see more silly faces, check out i heart faces.

Santa's Paper

Our past weekend was quite busy. During one of my many obligations, Kevin was at home alone with the girls. This is not an uncommon occurance, however, this particular time, the girls found a special hiding spot. We have a closet upstairs that is sort of a catch all, and the doors don't work properly so the girls can't get into it. Anyway, for some reason Kevin opened the closet to get something out while the girls were with him, and Skylar immediately noticed some wrapping paper in the corner. Now, I must let you know that the Santa that comes to our house wraps all the presents in fun, goofy wrapping paper that the mother of this house would not otherwise allow under the tree. Kevin thought for sure he had ruined the idea of Santa, she had figured it out. Well thankfully, he was wrong, and she is not quite as bright as we thought. She sees the paper and says "Oh Cool, Santa left us the wrapping paper he used to wrap the presents." I'm glad she is as innocent and naive as her mother once was, and that she doesn't put two and two together anytime soon.

Can You Hear Me?

I know most of you don't actually care about the girls' doctor visits, so if you don't, you can skip this post. I have just not done a very good job about keeping track of their information, so I thought the blog would be a great way to do that. So, here's the doctor info.....Today I took the girls to the doctor for their annual well checks. We started with a new pediatrician that was really thorough. The girls did really well as Skylar got one shot, and poor Londyn had to endure four. Skylar for some reason loves getting shots. I think it's because it makes her feel brave. Anyway, I told her she wasn't going to get a shot and she was disapointed. Much to her delight, I was wrong, and she ended up getting one little shot while at the doctor. Londyn wasn't so excited about hers, but she barely cried and acted like a very big girl. The spoiled rotten little girls talked me into buying them milkshakes on the way back to their school. I couldn't resist. On a not so good note, we found out that Skylar can't hear out of her right ear, which took me by complete surprise. She does currently have an ear infection, so hopefully that is the cause and it's just temporary. There was also a lot of fluid in her ears that also seemed to be a problem. We will be visiting the doctor again in about four weeks to see if her hearing has improved. I'm praying that's the case and it's nothing major. As far as the other doctory things, they were perfectly healthy. Londyn weighs 33lbs 1oz which is the 33%, her height is 39.5 in which is the 44%. Skylar is a little on the small side, she weighs 35lbs 1oz which is the 10%, she is 41.4 in which is the 15%. Isn't that great, they are four and five years old, and I finally have recorded their growth information. Am I a great mom or what?

My Heartbreakers

Grandma, this is for you, how you nonchalantly hinted that I needed to post a picture of the girls. Here they are today sporting their V-day gear!

A Few Funnies

Once again, the girls have done and said a few things lately that have made me laugh, so I thought I'd jot them down so I won't forget them.

First of all, last night when I got home from work, I was exhausted, so I laid down on the couch and apparently dozed off. As I was snoozing, Londyn must have made several phone calls on my phone. She woke me up when the phone actually rang and it was my friend Faith. Faith asked if I just tried to call her, I said no, and didn't think much more about it. I actually ended up going to bed shortly thereafter. Then, I got a couple of text messages today from people asking me if I tried to call them. When I got to my meeting this afternoon, one of the ladies let me know that she got a phone call from Londyn last night and could hear she and Skylar talking. Thankfully everyone had a good sense of humor about it and didn't get upset, but please know if you got a random phone call from my phone last night and no one actually spoke to you, I'm sorry.

As we were eating dinner tonight this was a conversation Skylar and I had:

Skylar: The baby still looks small. (as she looks at my stomach)
Me: I'm glad you think so, it would be bad if it were big already.
Skylar: It's like Miss Sararose (a preschool teacher at their school who just had a baby)
Me: Really, did Miss Sararose's baby every get big?
Skylar: Yes, but Miss Sararose is skinny.
Me: Oh, what are you trying to say?
Skylar: I mean she is really skinny.
Me: So, what are you trying to say about me?
Skylar: Well, you are really medium.
Me: Whew, I'll take medium. Right now, I will be really happy about medium.

Shortly after we found out we were expecting, we were in the car having a conversation about the house and how we were planning to arrange things. Skylar has been wanting to move into her own room for quite some time now. We are in the process of redecorating their room, so she thought it was a perfect time to bring up the idea of her own room again. I informed her that we would have to put a baby in that room now so she and Londyn would have to continue to share. Londyn as usual hears parts of the conversation and gets things slightly confused. She quickly asks "Is Skylar getting married?". She thought Skylar was having the baby. Apparently she knows you should be married to have a baby, but it hasn't sunk in that you should be older than the ripe old age of 5.

It's Bedtime!

The girls were a little wound up tonight after their bath. I couldn't get them to stop giggling and jumping around as they were getting their pajamas on and get ready for bed. I couldn't resist snapping a few pictures of these giggly, goofy girls.
Can you imagine being able to be be fully covered in a hand towel? I don't think that towel would fit around my thigh.

Photo Tag

Melinda from Bloggin' It From the Burbs tagged me to post the fourth photo in the fourth folder on my computer. I was pleased to find that it was a precious picture of Londyn, not an embarrassing one of me. These were taken in July while we were visiting my parents. My grandma had just bought the girls these new dresses, so we went outside and the girls posed while I snapped a few pictures. I'm tagging Jessica, Lesley, Meagan and April.
