Woolaroc

I thought it would be fun to go on a little outing during my parents visit, so we headed to Woolaroc to check out the ranch and museum as well as have a picnic. Little did I know that I would get us lost going and coming from the place and my parents would have to spend a few extra hours in the car that day, but other than that, we had a great time!
I love these pictures of my dad with the kids. It's so hard to get them to genuinely smile for a picture, but when they were on his shoulders, they all beamed.

I've given up hope on getting a good picture of all three of my kids together, so I'm going with the individual pictures of each one.

Grandparents, the Park and Ice Cream

I was so excited that my parents were able to come visit for a couple of days this week now that school is out! Usually when they come it's for an event, so we don't get to just hang out. The girls requested a trip to the park, so that's what we did the first day.
And then, we made a stop at our new favorite treat stop, Cherry Berry Frozen Yogurt Bar, to cool off and relax a little.

Summer Kick-Off

This summer will be slightly different than the last couple as far as spending whole day hanging at the pool or running around with the girls. Lincoln is more of a homebody that likes to nap in his own bed, play with his own toys and all that good stuff. So, we're trying to find things to do that allow us to get out a little bit during the day and then keep us busy at home. Our first stop of the summer was the public library. The girls were beyond excited to start the summer reading program. Londyn is eager to learn to read, and Skylar is reading up a storm, so it works out quite well. They have designated our office as their reading room and are entertained for hours by all the books they check out.

Child Labor

Have I ever mentioned how happy I am that my girls are at that great age where they love helping out around the house and they are actually able to be helpful! It's going to be a great summer girlies! Who needs parks, swimming pools, movies and sno-cones when there's work to be done around the house?

8 Months

I'm not quite sure where the last 8 months have gone, but I know that they've been great and are getting better all of the time. I'm so glad that summer is here and school is out so I can spend more time with this adorable little guy. Even after the third child, it never ceases to amaze me how babies develop their little personalities and are constantly learning something new. Lincoln is now crawling as you saw on the previous post, he still adores his sisters, he has decided that he does like food after all, he likes to pull hair and reach for jewelry, he loves to be thrown into the air, and I like to think he loves his mama, but he does say what sounds like dada. He still has no teeth, but hopefully those will be coming soon. He is still pretty laid back and easy going which makes things a whole lot easier. Happy 8 months buddy!

Hungry??

Late this winter, I started posting a menu for the week. I have neglected to do so the past couple of weeks because school is winding down and things have gotten pretty hectic. The girls apparently were missing the menu, so they decided to make their own. They perused my cookbooks and came up with the following: I'm not sure if you can make out what it says, but it sounds good to me. I only wish they could make the grocery list, do the shopping and the cooking!

Mother's Day

I hope you all had a great day celebrating Mother's Day with your mother or with your children. The kids all had precious gifts that they had made at school, and Kevin was very thoughtful and purchased gifts for them to give me as well. Of course, no gifts could compare to the joy these three bring me every day of year!

Ahhh....Finally

Finally, a Saturday that I got spend the day just hanging out with my kids. No prior committments, no demanding errands, just a day of fun with the family. We started out the morning by going to the Rooster Days parade which the children thoroughly enjoyed. I pulled my camera out to take a few pics, but soon realized that I left my camera card in the computer, so no parade pics. We did however have a lot of fun. It was a little cooler than usual, but it wasn't too bad. The girls enjoyed the popcorn, ice cream and other goodies that were handed out. Lincoln wasn't all that interested, but get in a little people watching. From there, we went out to lunch and headed to Philbrook Museum for their Free 2nd Saturday program. We went once last year, and had intended to go back, but it never worked out. But, yet again, the girls had a great time participating in all the art activities that were available. I really wanted to go so I could get a few good pictures of the kids in the amazing Philbrook gardens. That didn't even come close to happening, but we still had a great day together.
The girls showing off their butterflies Skylar painting her pond
Londyn painting her garden
The three of us and our paintings (please excuse my odd look, I was having contact issues)
Lonyn painting her box car. This last project was a little more than I had bargained for. There is some art car box parade next weekend, so one of the projects was creating a car for this event. She wanted to create a garden on her box car, so whatever.
They rolled down the hill a few times And yet another failed attempt at a good pic of my three children. This three child thing makes the picture taking feat really difficult. Trying to be out and about at a time that Lincoln is awake, fed and happy and the girls are interested in cooperating has proved to be quite challenging. What is important is that we had a great time together laughing, eating, painting and playing, right?

When the Parents are Away

The Children Play... with calves,
apparently ON calves,
with baby cousins,
on horses,
with horsesand on tractors!

I am thankful that I can trust that my kids are having an amazing time being spoiled by their grandparents while I'm having an amazing time hanging out with their dad. It's really a win-win for everyone.

School Carnival

Last week our school held our annual carnival. The girls of course had a great time hanging out with their friends, eating junk food, getting their faces painted, playing carnival games and jumping in the inflatables.

I guess when you're a kid, these activities never get old. Thankfully, there were plenty of big kids and other parents that kept an eye on my children while I sold soda. For me, this is just one of the many events taking place at this busy time of year that I can check off my list. One down, twenty five thousand to go!
