So You Wanna Be A Rock Star?

Skylar's 7th birthday celebration followed Lincoln's failed attempt at a party. Skylar, thankfully, was feeling great and all about cheesin' it up for the camera. She celebrated with a few friends from school and church and they all looked great decked out like rock stars! Hopefully they had a little fun too! They had pizza, decorated guitars, and sang a little karaoke. Sounds like a perfect girls night out to me! Skylar with her cake

Rock Stars!

Thanks to everyone that joined us! Skylar LOVED all of her gifts and had a great time celebrating with you!

A "Monster" Failure

A.K.A. Lincoln's First Birthday PartyWell, first birthdays can be a little akward anyway, but when the baby of honor is under the weather, it's even worse. He has been running a fever the last couple of days due to ear infections, but I had high hopes that he would be feeling better by today. I don't know why, it is a Lawrence family tradition that if you are turning one, you will be ill. This has been the case now for all 3 of my children. Anyway, Lincoln wasn't having anything to do with cake, balloons, presents or anything else birthday related. The pictures below are the best I could do. He would not sit on his own, and wouldn't give me anything that even resembled a grin. So, maybe next year's birthday will be a little more fun for the birthday boy! (and the rest of us) Thanks anyway to all of you that came out to celebrate with us, we appreciate it, and Lincoln will soon be feeling better and realize how much he LOVES all of his new toys!

We saved his smash cake, so maybe we'll try again when he is feeling better.

Happy 7th Birthday Skylar

Well, I'm a little belated in my birthday wishes to my first born, but better late than never, right? I thought that Lincoln turning one was bad, but I've decided it's not as difficult to fathom as Skylar turning seven. Seven just seems so old, doesn't it? Anyway, her real birthday was fairly uneventful. She took donuts to share with her classmates, and she requested breakfast for dinner. At seven, she is still loving school, and enjoys a good challenge. She is as sweet as pie, straight as an arrow, and as serious as a heart attack. She is extremely literal about everything, which is often humorous. She is also a bit of a perfectionist. She is enjoying dance and gymnastics this year, but whenever she is allowed, her favorite past time is watching tv. She is a great big sister. She works hard to keep Londyn on top of her school work, and she does a good job keeping Lincoln entertained which frees up a little time for me. She has a great attitude, and is generally always happy. She tries hard to please and is very sensitive to the feelings of others. I adore her. She makes me smile. Happy 7th Birthday Skylar Jade! Happy 1st Birthday Lincoln

Although I am very excited about the fact that Lincoln is getting older and learning to do all kinds of new things everyday, I am a little sad that my final baby has reached the one year mark. He has passed up the newborn and infant stages and well on his way to being a toddler. As a one year old, Lincoln is eating like a man. He LOVES his food, and demands it when it's time. He is still easy going, and his eyes still light up when he sees his sisters enter the room. Sometimes he likes to tease Kevin and I on who he is going to go to. Other times, he prefers Kevin, and when I try to hug or kiss Kevin while he's being held, he'll give me his angry face and push me away. If it weren't so cute, I might be offended. He has developed quite a personality, and is attempting to say several words. He definitely is a boy that wants to be heard. He likes to play in his room with his toys and about the only time he will sit still is when he is listening to a bedtime story. It has been a great year! Happy one year Lincoln! We love you!

One Year

I can't say enough that I can't believe my baby will be a year old this week! My how our lives have changed in the last year! As his first birthday is approaching and Skylar's seventh birthday is this week as well, I've been doing a little reminiscing. We are always trying to decide who we think Lincoln looks like, so I tried putting together a picture of each of them as they turned one. I can't say for sure what I think, but he definitely looks like he belongs. What do you think?

Grandparent's Day

So, I am only a week late in posting this, but once again this year, my parents had the pleasure of driving 10 hours (here and back) to be here for the Kindergarten Grandparent's Tea . They came last year to celebrate with Skylar, so they had to do the same for Londyn this year. I have some lucky girls to have such great grandparents that they would make such a long trip for such a short visit! They of course didn't get to stay long enough, but it was great to see them and the kids were ecstatic to have their grandparents here with them for such a special day!

Thanks Mom and Dad!

Soccer Debut

Yesterday, Londyn had her first soccer game. I played a lot of sports in the very distant past, but I know nothing about soccer. I had a lot of fun being iniciated to the game today. Her team pulled out a win, and Londyn somehow managed to score five goals on her soccer debut which was quite exciting! I didn't get very many good pictures because I was a little tied up with Lincoln, but here are the few that I managed to snap.

I'm not sure what she was doing here, but I thought it was hilarious that she was running down the field with her tongue out.

Labor Day Fun

At our Labor Day gathering, the kids tried out a few new games. The girls attempted at little badmitton. The guys passed the time with a few rounds of the bean bag toss.

Lincoln thought badmitton looked like fun too. He didn't want to be left out.

Anastyn and Lincoln having fun playing in the fountain.

Skylar thoroughly enjoying her dessert.

Family....

My Uncle Brad and Aunt Kathy hosted an extended family gathering over the Labor Day holiday. I see my immediate family frequently, expecially in the summer and fall, but as all of our families continue to increase, it's becoming more difficult to get everyone together. It was a beautiful day, and we had a great time catching up with everyone! My dad and a few of his siblings

Will Read For Waffles

These are a few pictures of the girls enjoying the annual waffle breakfast. Our wonderful school librarian hosts a waffle breakfast each year for all of the students that complete the summer reading program at the library. The girls had been looking forward to it since the first day of school, and were not disapointed! And can I add that it is so nice getting to experience all the fun stuff with BOTH of them this year!
