Christmas Day

Christmas Day, we spent a lazy morning at the lodge. We had a little breakfast and then casually packed up and headed back to Portland. We took a few quick pics before ending our christmas escapade.

Skylar was totally into posing for a few photos in the snow before loading up in the van.

It was a little cold outside, Londyn couldn't take it. This picture makes laugh.

Ready and Waitng

So, even though the kids got to meet the real Santa, they were still ready for his visit later that night while they were tucked in their beds. It was a bit of an untraditional Christmas Eve and morning, and somewhat challenging to pull off as we were all in the same room, but it all worked out. Santa brought a gift to the lodge where we were staying and left the rest for them under our tree at home awaiting their arrival. Nothing makes me happier than adorable kids in Christmas pajamas! Funny, they were all quite eager to have their pictures taken. I was trying to take pictures of the girls, and Lincoln kept climbing up on the fireplace and smiling at me. It was adorable really.

The "Real" Santa

On Christmas Eve, Santa Claus made Timberline one of his first stops of the night as he arrived down the chimney during dinner.
All of the kids that visited recieved a gift from Santa when they sat on his lap. It was quite a different "Santa" experience. The kids were thrilled that they got a gift straight from Santa's bag.

Snow Play

We really had one full day at Timberline to enjoy the snow, so we tried to take advantage of a white Christmas. I always have big plans of lots of great pictures, but considering that it was freezing and Kevin and Lincoln weren't big fans of the snow we tried to snap a quick family shot, and then the girls and some of the cousins hung around and attempted to go sledding and just played around in the snow. The best family shot of the trip, but check out the beautiful snow covered trees!

Poor Lincoln was outside for about 10 minutes, and he looked like this the entire time! It didn't help that he was overly tired, but he wasn't impressed by the mountain view or the snow.

Arrival at Timberline

On the 23rd, we headed to Timberline Lodge to celebrate Christmas. Timberline is a lodge on Mt. Hood in Oregon. If you are familiar with the movie The Shining, some of it was filmed there. I tried to snap a few pictures of the kids when we got there. The kids posing on the fireplace in our room.
The girls were dying to go for a swim in the outdoor heated pool. You can't tell very well, but there is snow surrounding the pool and on the trees. It was freezing, but the girls insisted, and thanks to some very kind uncles they were able to swim in the snow.

Christmas with the Lawrence's

Attempted family picture minus Lincoln. (He was napping)
Our family

The extended family. The kids loved hanging on their aunt and uncle and enjoyed being reintroduced to their "old" cousins.

Kevin performing his uncle duties.

More fun with all the cousins. It's not very often that all of the Lawrence's, so they all took advantage of their time together. One Christmas down.....

We Made It!

Monday, we headed to Portland. I was not at all looking forward to the traveling part of this trip. The thought of flying at Christmas with a one year old is not my idea of fun. However, we made it without too much trouble. There was the typical behavior expected from Lincoln on the second flight, but nothing near what it could have been. We arrived late afternoon, and were all glad to finally get off of the plane and stretch a little. Lincoln hanging with Grandaddy.
Londyn loving on her new cousin Vivian getting her baby fix. The girl is obsessed.

Skylar, of course, had to take her turn holding Vivian as well.
Vivian is quite a doll, and we were all glad to get a chance to finally meet her.

School Christmas Performances

The day before Christmas breaks is one of the most bittersweet days of the year. It is filled with all kinds of fun events, but trying to remember to take all the presents, have my classroom party as well as make a visit to each of the girls parties, not to mention all of the kids are wound up ready for the break, makes for an exhausting day! I did get to swing by the kindergarten performance and watch Londyn sing a few songs. She was glad I made it considering I missed her Thanksgiving songs.
Then, I stopped by Skylar's party for a second just to say hi and snap a picture. She, of course, had a huge grin and was having a great time!

It ended up being a great day, and as of last Friday, Christmas break has been in full swing! (yes, posts are a little out of order, and I'm a little behind)

Winterfest 2010

Ok, so maybe it's not Rockefeller Center, but we still had a great time ice skating under the stars. I have been wanting to visit downtown Tulsa for the last couple of years to try out the outdoor ice skating rink, but never made it until this year. We all had a great time, and the girls did a pretty impressive job considering it was their first time. Fun with friends!
My two favorite girls!
